One Heart Wild Education Sanctuary has my heart forever โค๏ธ๐ด๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐
May 2, 2024
I stumbled on to this sanctuary by accident on Facebook. I was struggling with anxiety and depression as I have dealt with on and off for a number of decades. I happened to see a Goats & Floats event and I just loved the name of it. It made me smile. I didn't know what it meant exactly and assumed maybe it was Goats by a River Rafting event of some kind. ๐ I was up for anything that would lift my mood and help support animals. Anything with goats involved seemed to be a good idea.....
Goats and Floats happens in August
Goats and Floats did not disappoint. The Sanctuary is gated and by appointment only. I didn't know that when I went to this event. The event was fun, there were various beautiful and cute animals, there were vendors there selling all kinds of wonderful gifts. It felt like a farmers market in a way. And they served Root beer Floats which were amazing. As I asked about their hours I realized this wasn't a place people just stop by during certain hours. That is when I decided to research them better so I understood what this place was.
One Heart Wild (OHW) is SO MANY different things for humans and non humans it is impossible to cover it all.
I will share some bullet points for now, and I encourage you to go to their website which I will share here. I volunteer here every Sunday. They ask that if you decide to volunteer you stick to at least 6 months 3 hours a week so the residents get to know you. I can tell you as long as I am able I will be there every Sunday for the rest of my life. That is how much this place has my heart. I believe 100% in everything they are doing for their community
